WHERE IT ALL STARTED

Founded in 2023 in the U.K., Backyard Sideshow is a small independent creative venture run by Caz and influenced by Maz.

The roots go back much further, shaped by an upbringing surrounded by the anti-establishment attitude of the U.K. punk rock scene of the 1970s and 80s.

Every design starts with pencil, paper and imagination before being dragged — sometimes kicking and screaming — into the digital world of graphic design. No AI is used to create our designs. Every one begins with human imagination.

Here at Backyard Sideshow, we're not a corporate machine and we don't follow trends. Our designs come from the heart, from ideas we believe in, and from looking at the world a little differently.

Backyard Sideshow creates bold, thought-provoking merchandise for independent thinkers and the wildly imaginative social misfits of the modern world.

Our work mixes dark humour, strong opinions, social commentary and more than a touch of the absurd. If you think outside the box, question the norm and enjoy alternative perspectives, you're probably in the right place.

HOW IT'S MADE

We partner with a global print-on-demand fulfilment provider, with production and distribution centres around the world.

Our T-shirts are made from 100% organic ring-spun cotton, while our hoodies use a blend of organic cotton and recycled polyester. We choose quality garments designed for comfort, durability and a lower environmental impact.

Everything is printed to order especially for you. That means we don't produce piles of stock in advance or manufacture clothing that may never find a home.

Producing on demand helps reduce overproduction and unnecessary waste. It can sometimes mean waiting a little longer for your order, but we think that's a pretty good trade-off.

Our foremost objective is to remain original, independent and homegrown.

We don't copy.

We don't follow.

We don't water things down.

We don't like censorship.

Our designs are inspired by modern society, alternative perspectives, global concerns and the general absurdity of the world around us.

We continually add new designs that question, provoke, amuse and occasionally raise an eyebrow or two.

Every Backyard Sideshow design starts here. Any resemblance to another designer's work is purely coincidental — and entirely unintentional.

ETHOS

Our designs aren't for everyone — and they're not meant to be.

They're for open minds, independent thinkers and people who welcome diversity, different perspectives and humour that bites.

We encourage free-range imagination, questioning the norm and the freedom to think for yourself.

(To our knowledge) no dates or situations have been changed to protect those involved, no events have been exaggerated or dramatised for effect, and no humans, animals or aliens were harmed in the making of this enterprise.

BACKYARD SIDESHOW is a small independent business run by Caz, with a little influence from Maz. The remaining members of our highly qualified intergalactic team are here purely for your amusement.
